Question

Are centrioles part of the endomembrane system?

Open in App
Solution

Endomembrane System:

  1. Eukaryotic cells are collections of membranes and organelles that work together to alter, package, and transport lipids and proteins.
  2. The endomembrane system also includes the plasma membrane.
  3. Different parts of the endomembrane system are the endoplasmic reticulum (rough and smooth ER), Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, and vacuoles.
  4. Thus, centrioles are not part of the endomembrane system.
