Cycas:

  1. Cycas are evergreen perennials that belong to the family Cycadaceae.
  2. Example- Sago palm or Cycas revoluta.
  3. They contain a special type of root called ‘coralloid roots’.
  4. Cycas are not bryophytes. They are gymnosperms in which ovules are not enclosed inside the ovary wall.
  5. Bryophytes refer to a diverse group of liverworts and mosses. They mostly grow in moist and shady regions.
