Solution

Down Syndrome:

  1. It is a genetic condition/disorder wherein there is the addition of an extra copy of the 21st chromosome in human beings due to chromosomal non-disjunction.
  2. It is also referred to as trisomy of the 21st chromosome.
  3. Flat face, small ears, mouth, and head, protruding tongue, poor muscle tone, short neck, short fingers, Brushfield's spots in the iris of the eye (white tiny spots), slow physical growth, and intellectual disabilities are a few characteristics of Down's syndrome.
  4. Studies have shown that shorter femur length is one of the major reasons for causing the smaller size of fetuses with down syndrome.
