Asexual and Sexual reproduction:
- Asexual reproduction involves only one parent as they do not require a sex cell or fertilization process to reproduce.
- Sexual reproduction requires sex cells both male and female gamete to fuse together to give birth to young ones.
- The organisms produced are genetically different from both their parents.
- Example: Humans, Animals.
Earthworms
- They are terrestrial invertebrates that belong to the phylum Annelida.
- Earthworms are simultaneous hermaphrodites i.e., they contain both male and female reproductive organs.
- They reproduce by cross-fertilization which is why they are sexual organisms.
