Solution
Fish scales:
Fishes are aquatic organisms that belong to the kingdom Animalia.
Their outer body is covered with small plates called scales.
The scales are made of dentine and enamel which give them protection from the environment.
Bony fishes contain ctenoid or cycloid scales. Examples- carp, salmon, etc.
On the other hand, cartilaginous fishes possess placoid scales. Examples- rays, sharks, etc.
Fish scales can be considered as the skin since they are produced from the mesoderm layer.
