A very recent example of natural selection includes the ability to tolerate lactose present in milk. Some regions have a long history of dairy farming and people from these regions can easily digest lactose because their intestine produces the lactase enzyme.
This is in contrast with people from other regions with no history of dairy farming, these people are unable to digest lactose since their intestines do not produce lactase.
