2. They are also called autotrophs .Example : algae and plants.

Consumers

1. Consumers are unable to synthesize their own food and are dependent on producers as their source of energy.
2. They are called heterotrophs such as birds, reptiles, mammals, etc.

Humans

1. Humans are dependent on plants and animals as their source of energy.
2. Being omnivores they are able to derive nutrition from either of them.
3. Humans are consumers.
