Dear student. Lactobacillus is a genus and a major part of the lactic acid bacteria group . they convert sugars to lactic acid . Lactobacillus, non-spore-forming bacteria of the family Lactobacillaceae. Similar to other genera in the family, Lactobacillus are characterized by their ability to produce lactic acid as a by-product of glucose metabolism. They are mainly used in the manufacture of fermented dairy, sourdough, meat and vegetable foods or used as probiotics. Lactobacilli are not found in milk drawn aseptically from the udder. Regard
