Pteridophyta are highly active group among cryptogams and they are called as vascular cryptogams because of the conduction tissues called vascular bundles.
Pteridophyta are vascular cryptogams which means they have vascular tissues such as xylem and phloem but they cannot produce flowers.
A pteridophyte is a vascular plant (with xylem and phloem) that disperses spores (and lacks seeds). Because pteridophytes produce neither flowers nor seeds they are also referred to as cryptogams.
