Are scavengers example of saprophytes

Dear Student,
No scavangers are not saprotrophs. Scavangers are the organisms that feed on dead plants, dead animals and breaks its organic matter into smaller particles. Eg of scavangers are birds, crabs , insect and worms. On the other hand saprotrophs is the other name of decomposers. For eg. Fungi.
