Explanation: Under the arrangements of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 there is a three-level quasi-legal system at the District, State, and National levels to give a fast resolution to purchaser disputes.
At the district level, it is called District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (District Forum). It has ward or jurisdiction to engage shoppers disputes, where the worth of merchandise/services including compensation asserted, in case any, is up to Rs. 20 Lakhs.
