It is of non-specific type of immunity that is present from birth.
Innate immunity acts as the first line of defence.
Physical barriers such as skin, phagocytes, blood proteins, and cytokines are the types of innate immunity.
Adaptive immunity
it is a specific type of immunity that occurs after exposure to a pathogen.
This type of immunity is acquired throughout the lifetime of an individual.
B lymphocytes regulate humoral immune response and T lymphocytes control cell-mediated immunity.
T Cells
T cells are a type of lymphocyte that is part of the immune system.
These are produced in the bone marrow and are matured in the thymus.
There are two types of T cells- Helper T cell and Cytotoxic T cell.
T cells are a type of adaptive immunity.
These cells are activated only when exposed to a pathogen.
They are either Helper T cell that facilitates other immunological responses and Killer T cell that causes cytotoxicity of the infected cells.
T cells regulate cell-mediated immunity which does not involve antibodies and rather depends on phagocytosis, cell death, and other secondary immunological responses.
