T cells or T lymphocytes are a crucial part of the immune system.
They are produced in the bone marrow and matured in the thymus.
These T lymphocytes regulate the cell-mediated immune response which is a type of adaptive immunity.
There are memory T cells present in the body.
These cells are formed after a pathogenic infection.
After an infection is subsided from the body some T cells differentiate into memory T cells.
When the same pathogen infects the body again, these memory T cells activate the effector T cell causing a more rapid and aggressive immune response against the pathogen.
The memory T cell also activates other immunological factors and B lymphocytes to fight the infection.
