Acetylene gas which is used in ripening gas, is harmful to us . It is an artificial means of ripening fruits instead of natural one. So it tends to cause cancer in human beings, be it present in any form, either the has itself or its by products , C₂H₂ and Ca(OH)₂ , all are harmful .
