Sterile individual

  1. A condition in which an individual is unable to produce sperm/egg.
  2. Example- mules.
  3. Factors leading to sterility(in humans)- undescended testicles, abnormal sperm, genetic defects, diabetes, infections like HIV, mumps, chlamydia, etc.

XYY males:

  1. This condition in males is caused due to aneuploidy of sex chromosomes.
  2. Most of the XYY (47 chromosomes) males are fertile & some can be sterile also.
