Question

Areva 2 metres Deep and 45 metres wide is flowing at the rate of 3 km per hours. Find the amount of water that runs into the sea per minute.

Open in App
Solution

Given that: Rate of water flow = 3km/h= (3000/60) m/min =50 m/min

Depth (h) of river = 2 m

Width (b) of river = 45 m

Volume of water flowed in 1 min = Rate of water flow * depth of river * width of river = 50*2*45 = 4500 m3

Hence, in 1 minute, 4500 m3 water will fall in the sea.
