Arjun is twice as old as Shriya five years ago his age was three times Shriya's age. Find their present ages.

let age of Arjun be ${}^{\prime }{x}^{\prime }$ and age of Shriya be ${}^{\prime }{y}^{\prime }$

then according to question $x=2y---\left(1\right)$

and five years ago

$x-5=3(y-5)$

$x-5=3y-15$

$x-3y+10=0---\left(2\right)$

using eq$\left(1\right)$

$2y-3y+10=0$

$y=10$

and $x=20$

$\therefore$ age of Arjun is $20$ and age of Shriya is $10$
