∙ Solids are rigid and incompressible due to very less or no space between the particles. The force of attraction among their constituent particles is strong.
∙ Liquids have weak force of attraction as compared to solids.
∙ Gas particles are in constant random motion and have the weakest force of attraction between them.
∙ Semi-solids like toothpaste have weaker force of attraction than soilds but stronger than liquids.
Thus, the order of force of attraction is:
Air < Water < Toothpaste < Iron rod
