Increasing order of ven der waal constant 'a'
He < H2 < O2 < CO2
Increasing order of constant b :
He < H2 < O2 < CO2

The value of ‘a’ depends on intermolecular forces of attraction. The value of ‘a’ is higher for easily liquefiable gases while lower for permanent gases.
The constant ‘b’ is the effective volume of the gas molecules.
