Solution

Jute is obtained from the stem of the harvested plant. The steps involved in its production are:

1. Harvesting is done by cutting of stem.
2. Then, the obtained stem is immersed in water and kept for a few days for soaking.
3. After the stem is soaked, it is easy to peel as it becomes rotten.
4. After peeling, fibres are washed to remove the impurities.
5. Then the fibres are dried and marketed to make jute yarn.

This jute can be used to manufacture gunny bags, coarse cloth, carpet, etc.
