Following are the different stages in the life cycle of a silkworm.
1. Egg: The female silk moths lay hundreds of egg in one go and die very soon.
2. Larvae: Larvae will hatch out from the eggs after about 10 days and spins a cocoon made of silk around itself.
3. Cocoon: Inside the cocoon, the caterpillar changes into pupa and then to adult silk moth.
4. Adult silk moth: It takes about 2-3 weeks for the pupa to change into an adult silk moth. These moths then hatch out of the cocoon.
