Question

Arrange the following circles in the ascending order of their circumferences.

Open in App
Solution

We know:
Circumference of a circle=π×Diameter

Circumference of the circle whose diameter is 6 in
=π×6
=227×6
=1327 in

Circumference of the circle with diameter 15 in
=π×15
=227×15
=3307 in

We know:
Diameter of a circle = 2 × Radius

Circumference of the circle with radius 4 in
=π×2×4
=227×8
=1767 in

Circumference of circle with radius 10 in
=π×2×10
=227×20
=4407 in

Hence, the ascending order of the circumferences of the circles:
Diameter 6 in < Radius 4 in < Diameter 15 in < Radius 10 in.
