Arrange the following events in correct order of occurence
(a) fertilization (b) spermiation (c)spermiogenesis
(d)capacitaition (e) insemination
c,b,e,d,a
The spermatids are transformed into spermatozoa (sperms) by the process called spermiogenesis. After spermiogenesis, sperm heads become embedded in the Sertoli cells, and are finally released from the seminiferous tubules by the process called spermiation. During copulation (coitus) semen is released by the penis into the vagina (insemination). The activation of tail movements is part of the process of capacitation, in which the sperm undergoes a series of cellular changes that enables its participation in fertilization.
