Arrange the following fractions in the ascending order:
$\frac{4}{6},\frac{3}{8},\frac{6}{12},\frac{5}{16}$

To compare two fractions we should first make their denominators same:

For this, we should find out the L.C.M of $6,8,12$ and $16$ which comes out to be $48$

So,

First fraction is : $\frac{4}{6}=\frac{4\times 8}{6\times 8}=\frac{32}{48}$

Second fraction is : $\frac{3}{8}=\frac{3\times 6}{8\times 6}=\frac{18}{48}$

Third fraction is : $\frac{6}{12}=\frac{6\times 4}{12\times 4}=\frac{24}{48}$

Fourth fraction is : $\frac{5}{16}=\frac{5\times 3}{16\times 3}=\frac{15}{48}$

Clearly $\frac{15}{48}<\frac{18}{48}<\frac{24}{48}<\frac{32}{48}$

Hence$\frac{5}{16}<\frac{3}{8}<\frac{6}{12}=\frac{4}{6}$
