The above figures represent the fractions $\frac{1}{6}$, $\frac{1}{5}$, $\frac{1}{4}$ and $\frac{1}{3}$ respectively. Comparing the area of the shaded regions, we have $\frac{1}{6}<\frac{1}{5}<\frac{1}{4}<\frac{1}{3}$.
Note that if the numerator is the same for two fractions, then the fraction with the larger denominator is the smaller fraction of the two.
