Her son, Rajiv Gandhi, known as the architect of digital India, became PM after her. The Congress party faced corruption related criticism and was defeated by the Janata Dal party. Vishwanath Pratap Singh became the Prime Minister of India. He resigned as the Prime Minister on 7th November, 1990 after receiving a vote of no confidence in the Lok Sabha. After that, Chandra Shekhar became the Prime Minister of India.
