Solution

The correct option is D 12345
Options A and C: Both options contain sequences 54132 and 54213 that begin with 5.
Sentence no. 5 begins with a demonstrative pronoun 'This'. This pronoun refers to something that has been mentioned before. A sentence that begins with 'this' cannot start any topic. It refers to continuation. In fact, sentence 5 comes last.
Hence, options A and C are incorrect.
Option B: 34125
Sentence no. 3 begins with a conjunction 'so'. It indicates that the sentence is a continuation of another. No topic begins with the word 'so'. Hence, this option does not contain a logical sequence, and option B is incorrect.
Option D: The first sentence, "Passivity is not, of course, universal." is the only one which introduces the passage. It's a general line which further expands into the more specific details. Hence, sentence 1 comes first.
Option D is the only one that begins with the introductory sentence. The sequence 12345 is a logical sequence. Hence D is correct.
