Solution
The steps involved in water treatment process are given below.
The water to be treated flows from the reservoir into the sedimentation tank which allows heavy, solid particles present in water to settle down.
Lighter impurities that are suspended in the water are further allowed to settle down in the loading tank.
The remaining impurities are removed in the filtration tank. The impurities are trapped between the gravel, coarse gravel, and fine sand layers present in the tank.
The water from this tank is moved to the chlorination tank, where chlorine gas is passed through the water to kill the bacteria.
From chlorination tank the treated water is transported to homes.
