58,1316 and 712

Open in App
Solution

Step 1 : Finding LCM of denominators of given numbers

Given, rational numbers are 58,1316 and 712

Where, 1316=1316

Now,

Factors of 8=2×2×2.

Factors of 16=2×2×2×2.

Factors of 12=2×2×3.

LCM of 8,16,12 = 4×2×2×3=48.

Step 2 : Making denominators of rational numbers equal to LCM i.e., 48

58=5×68×6=3048 and

1316=13×316×3=3948 and

712=7×412×4=2848

Step 3 : Comparing 3048,3948 and 2848

For the same denominator, the rational number with the greater numerator is greater.

3048>2848>3948 [ denominator are same and
30>28>39]

58>712>1316

58>712>1316

Hence, the descending order is 58>712>1316.
