Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer Technology (MOET) is a part of controlled breeding experiments aimed at improving the quality of the breed. MOET is the technique in which multiple eggs are fertilized in an animal and the embryos are collected.

The following steps are followed in this method:-

  • The female cattle like cow is administered with hormones having follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) like activity, to stimulate follicular maturation and superovulation (releasing 6-8 eggs instead of one egg per cycle) -statement II.
  • The female is either mated with a superior bull or artificially inseminated (semen of superior male is injected into the reproductive tract) - statement III.
  • The fertilised eggs at 8–32 celled stage (embryo) is recovered non-surgically - statement IV.
  • The embryos collected are then transferred to surrogate mothers (animal that takes the role of mother to another animal) - statement I.
  • The genetic mother is made available for another round of superovulation.
