Question

Arrangement 1 has 56 counters arranged equally with 8 counters in each row. Arrangement 2 needs 63 counters to be arranged equally in the same number of rows as that in arrangement 1. How many counters will be there in each row in arrangement 2?

For arrangement 1:
Total number of counters =56 counters
Number of counters in each row =8 counters
Let the number of rows be t.
Number of rows = Total number of counters ÷ Number of counters in each row
t=56÷8
t=7 rows

Arrangement 2 has the same number of rows as that in arrangement 1.
Total number of counters =63 counters
Number of row =7 rows
Let the number of counters in each row be b.
Number of counters in each row = Total number of counters ÷ Number of rows
=63÷7
=9 counters
9 counters are arranged in each row in arrangement 2.

Hence, option A is correct.
