Arvind sold his watch at $10\%$ loss. If he had sold it for $Rs54$ more, he would have made $8\%$ profit. Find the selling price of the watch.

Let C.P of watch be $Y$

S.P of which be $Y$

Loss $\%=(C.P-S.P)/C.P\times 100$

$10=(x-y)/x\times 100$

$x=10x-10y$

$x=\frac{10}{9}\times y$

If he sold it for $54$ more, he would made $8$% profit

Profit %$=(S.P-C.P)/C.P\times 100$

$8=(y+54-x)/x\times 100$

$8x=100y+5400-100x$

$108x-100y=5400$

Plugging the value of $x$ in above equation

$108\times 10/9\times y-100y=5400$

$120y-100y=5400$

$20=5400$

$y=270$
