Plants give out carbon dioxide not only atnight but during the day too. It happens because of the process of respiration in whichplants take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide. As soon as the sun rises another process called photosynthesis starts, in whichcarbon dioxide is taken in and oxygen is given out.

As said earlier when sun rises both photosynthesis and respiration take place...in night photosynthesis don't happen due to absence of light..
