The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act) was enacted by the Parliament to provide and strengthen legal provisions for the protection of children from exploitation and sexual offences. This Act recognised child as the person below the age of 18 years and provide punishment for several cognizable sexual offences against children.
