Solution

The global wind pattern is also known as the "general circulation" and the surface winds of each hemisphere are divided into three wind belts:

  • Polar Easterlies: From 60-90 degrees latitude.
  • Prevailing Westerlies: From 30-60 degrees latitude (aka Westerlies).
  • Tropical Easterlies: From 0-30 degrees latitude (aka Trade Winds).

San Fransisco To Manila:

From San Fransisco to Honolulu and then in latitude 21°32' N and longitudes 160° 30'west then by great circle to san Bernardino strait in Philippians.

Tropical Easterlies are the wind belt to be followed while traveling from San Fransisco to Manila as the latitude 21°32' N is in Tropical Easterlies.
