Acceleration due to gravity at earth's surface is g = Gmr2 where r is the radius of earth, M is mass of the earth and G is universal gravitational constant. Hence the relation between gravity and radius is inversely proportional to each other. Thus the value of g on earth is maximum at poles and goes on decreasing as we go towards the equator.
