Question

As we go higher into the atmosphere

Open in App
Solution

Density:

  1. The density of air decreases as it is heated in the free atmosphere.
  2. The effect of pressure on air density is inverse.
  3. The pressure and the density of the air decrease with the increase in altitude. Thus, on going up in the atmosphere, the density, and the pressure decrease.

Therefore, as we go higher into the atmosphere, the pressure decreases.
