Assertion:

1,2,4,8 is a G.P. with common ratio 2
4,8,16,32 is also a series with common ratio 2
If both the series have same common ration then, the sum of elements of series will also be a G.P. with the same common ratio.
i.e. 1+4,2+8,4+16,....
=5,10,20,40,....
will also be G.P. with common ratio 2.
Reason given is the correct explanation.
