Limestone is calcium carbonate (CaCO3) which when heated to above 840°C decomposes into calcium oxide (CaO) while releasing carbon dioxide (CO2) according to the equation:

CaCO3(s)CaO(s) + CO2(g).

from the above balanced chemical equation we find that
stoichiometric coefficients for CaCO3 and CO2 in the reaction are 1 and 1 each.
and ,
on doing mole-mole analysis we get 44 g of CO2 is produced.
hence option D is correct.
