The Amarnath Cave is located at Anantnag district in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated at an altitude of roughly 3,900 metres. The height of the cave itself is said be about 130 metres. A rock-like structure is formed inside the cave due to the freezing of water drops that drip down from the roof of the cave. This structure eventually grows vertically as more drops freeze over.
