The light rays coming from an object initially pass through the cornea. The curved surface of the cornea functions as a convex lens and starts to bend the light rays. The rays pass through the pupil and reaches the eye lens which is biconvex. It further refracts or bends the light. An inverted image is formed on the retina. Retina then converts these light signals into neural impulses and sends them to the brain. The visual cortex of the brain plays a major role in reversing the inverted image.
