Assertion :A ball is projected with 60ms1 at 600 with the horizontal simultaneously a toy car starts moving with 30ms1 from the same point and in the same horizontal direction as the ball moves. The ball always lies above the toy car. Reason: Bodies moving with same uniform component velocity cover equal displacements in equal intervals of time.

Solution

The correct option is A If both Assertion and Reason are true and the Reason is correct explanation of the Assertion.
V=60 m/s
Vx=60cos600=60/2=30m/s
V1=30m/s
Velocity in horizontal direction is same for toy and ball at any time. Hence ball and toy will cover equal distances in x direction.
