Solution

The correct option is B

Reason [R] is True and Assertion [A] is False.

Glucagon increases blood sugar level and insulin reduces it. They are antagonistic pancreatic hormones. Glucagon is a peptide hormone and plays an important role in maintaining normal blood glucose levels. Glucagon acts mainly on the liver cells (hepatocytes) and stimulates glycogenolysis (forming glucose from the breakdown of glycogen in the liver) resulting in increased blood sugar (hyperglycemia). Insulin enhances the cellular uptake of glucose molecules and lowers the blood sugar level.
