A balloon filled with hydrogen rises up due to the difference in density of hydrogen and atmosphere. As the balloon rises up, the density of the air decreases as we move up.There will be a point up in atmosphere where density becomes equal. As there will be no density difference, the balloon stops. The atmospheric pressure is due to force exerted by the atmosphere on region below it.
