Explanation:
As the man goes up the torque produced by his weight increases as he is near the bottom .
To maintain static equilibrium the torque produced by the weight of ladder and the man should be equal to the torque produced by normal and frictional forces.
Hence more frictional force is required to maintain the balance.
But the static friction limit does not change.
As a result the ladder slips.
