The correct option is A Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion
When the cube will melt away, and turn into water, “the water formed from melting of ice cube” will have lesser volume than the “ice cube” itself.
Due to the difference in their volumes, there will be a drop in the level of water in the beaker.

Also, the metal ball would not make a significant change in the volume of water because the ice cube was already floating with the ball inside it. Hence, the metal ball would simply sink after the ice melts.
