The correct option is C Assertion is true, but the Reason is false.
If the number of divisions on circular scale are more then the screw will move lesser in same number of rotations as compared to the case with lesser number of divisions on circular scale. Hence, Reason is false.
Smaller pitch means more divisions and hence higher accuracy.
