pH less than 7 shows the acidic nature.
pH more than 7 shows the basic nature.
Hence, a solution with a pH of 5 is more acidic than a solution with a pH of 8.
pH=log[H+]
if pH = 5, then it means the [H+] ion concentration = 105
and if pH = 8, then it means the [H+] ion concentration = 108
108×1000=105
Hence , statement 2 is correct.
