The correct option is A Both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion
Cis is more polar than trans as there are two same groups on the same side of double bond and so the dipole moment from both the groups is added, while in trans, the dipole moment is equal and opposite in magnitude. So, its dipole moment is cancelled out. Hence, zero dipole moment.
So cis is more polar in nature than trans because of the definite dipole moment.
