Solution

The correct option is A Both A and R are true.
The most important clause of the Mountbatten Plan was the creation of Pakistan and its separation from India. Thus, the Muslim League leaders were overjoyed as the plan recommended the Partition of India. The leaders of the Congress viewed the Partition as the only way to end the communal riots. Thus, the Muslim League accepted the plan on 10 June, 1947 and the Indian National Congress (INC) accepted the plan on 15 June, 1947.
